SEC CARBON's artificial graphite electrodes take full advantage of some characteristics of graphite, i.e., high resistance against high temperature, high electric conductivity, and high resistance against thermal shock (temperature changes), and are used for electric arc furnaces. They are not just used in Japan, but also exported to a large number of countries in the world.
The products rolled out from the unique production and machining technologies to extract the above characteristics of graphite, as well as our advanced quality control system, make a great contribution to the safe operation and cost reduction of electric arc furnaces for steel manufacturing. Our effective technical support gains a high reputation worldwide.

In order to improve productivity and save energy cost, electric arc furnaces for steel manufacturing have become larger and come to consume larger electric power. Accordingly, the demand for electrodes of larger diameters has increased.
For DC(direct current) furnaces, electrodes of even larger diameters have increasingly been adopted.
Our electrodes with a large diameter of over 700 mm, which allow large current to flow, are highly reputed as well.
Artificial graphite electrodes are considered to make great contributes to resource saving and environmental protection. Electric arc furnaces are mainly used to recycle steel and the use of artificial graphite electrodes, therefore, means promoting the recycling of steel.
Some local governments have adopted ash melting furnaces, which are used to melt large volume of ash resulting from the incineration of wastes at high temperature. For those furnaces, graphite electrodes have started being used.
